The Orange Albatross Butterfly (Appias nero) is a member of the family Pieridae. The species is commonly found in northern India to the Sunda Islands, the Philippines, and Sulawesi. This Orange Albatross is easily distinguished from other Appias species by the bright orange coloration of both sexes.
Females tend to be a bit harder to find, but males are more commonly seen at lower altitudes, seeking food. They are often seen in small groups along riverbanks during the peak March-June flight season.
This beautiful butterfly in resin makes for a great gift. Since it is embedded in a crystal clear lucite block, it is viewable from all angles and is an excellent scientific specimen.
Lucite block measures approximately 3 inches square.
As with all real butterflies in resin, size, coloration and positioning can vary slightly.
