This is a Giant Forest Scorpion in resin. Scientifically named Heterometrus liangi. It is commonly found in the tropical and subtropical regions of southeastern Asia including Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and India. This species of large scorpion is always black but can have slight tints of different color. It’s venom is non-lethal to humans.
This pristine specimen is encased in clear lucite where every little detail is viewable from all angles. You can safely examine the fine point of it’s venomous stinger.
As with all natural specimens, size, coloration and positioning can vary slightly. Lucite block measures approx. 4 1/4 inches tall by 1 3/4 inches wide.
