Description
The Common Tiger Butterfly (Danaus Genutia) is one of the more common butterflies found in India. There it is called the Striped Tiger to differentiate it from the Plain Tiger Butterfly. It’s part of the Danainae group of the brush-footed butterfly family.
Members of this genus are tough to kill and known to fake death. They have an unpleasant smell and taste, therefore are often released by predators.
This real butterfly specimen is set in a block of crystal clear lucite, making it an excellent teaching model or stunning display piece for any home or collector. This species very closely resembles the monarch butterflies of the Americas.
Lucite block measures approximately 3 inches square.
As with all real butterflies in resin, size, shape and positioning can vary slightly.
